Plan to Protect Policy

In order to keep our campers safe, as well as adults who come on the grounds during our Children’s & Youth Camps, our Plan to Protect Policy has been updated, and thus must be followed.

Be informed of new policies put in place to keep both campers & adults safe.

The Board of Directors have updated & approved a Plan to Protect policy that may affect you.

It is our desire as a camp to protect everyone that walks onto our grounds, from the youngest to the oldest. With an updated policy, there are changes that come with it. Please familiarize yourself with this small portion of the policy to understand how this may affect you.

During Children’s and Youth Camps:

Visitors: require no screening, training, or clear VSC but may not stay overnight on camp premises. They must coordinate with the Executive Director regarding their visit, and are not permitted to use main bathrooms (but must use the Multi-Purpose Bathrooms) during their visit.

Visitors may include (but are not limited to) Parents, Food Truck Suppliers, Health Inspectors, and Septic Haulers.

Occasional Observers: are individuals coming to serve at MLGC for a short period of time, potentially up to 48 hour and staying overnight. This role could include maintenance, and have no direct contact with Children & Youth.

Occasional Observers are required to coordinate with the Executive Director regarding their visit, and are not permitted to use main bathrooms (but must use the Multi-Purpose Bathrooms) during their visit.

Occasional Observers are NOT required an application, but ARE required a clean Vulnerable Sector Check.

Support Volunteers: are individuals, such as parents and maintenance, coming to serve at MLGC for longer than 48 hours and staying overnight. These volunteers must fill in a Support Volunteer Application, and have a clear Vulnerable Sector Check.

Program Personnel: are staff and volunteers that include (but are not limited to) the following roles: Program Directors, Cabin Leaders, Leader-In-Training, Camp Medics, Cooks, Lifeguards, Wranglers, Speakers, and Camp Pastors.

Program Personnel must submit an application, pass a screening interview, have a clear Vulnerable Sector Check, and sign a contract.
