What is a LIT Program?
We are excited to be offering a leadership training program at MLGC this year! It is our desire to create a new opportunity at MLGC to develop leadership skills and give confidence to young leaders.
The Leaders in Training (LIT) program is for youth (ages 12-17) to have a hands on experience, grow in their knowledge and walk with Jesus, and gain valuable volunteering experience while having fun with children.
First, the LIT must apply for the program. Once accepted and contacted, a registration form will be forwarded to the applicant.

Jr. LIT Program
- 12-14 years
- July 3-8, 2022
- $125
This program offers a week of training and equipping to youth (ages 12-14). LIT’s will grow together in a small group, designed to deepen your knowledge and faith in Christ while encouraging fellow-LIT’s.
LIT’s will also have the chance to participate in many aspects of camp life and learn what it takes to be a successful and positive leader in the camp environment.

Sr. LIT Program
- 15-18 years
- July 10-15 // July 17-22
- $125 (for both weeks)
During week 1, LIT’s (aged 15-18) can expect a week of training and equipping in a small group environment, while surrounded by an on-going camp. This experience will allow LIT’s to grow in an intimate way, as well as understand the ins and outs of camp life.
In week 2, LIT’s participate in all aspects of camp life and learn what it takes to be a successful and positive leader in the camp environment. The LIT program prepares the participants to take leadership roles in and out of camp.
Sr. LIT’s MUST be able to commit to both weeks.
What Can I Expect?
During the week, LIT’s will participate in devotions, staff meeting, and camp chapel services to allow a comprehensive look at camp life. The small group of LIT’s will also participate in team building, cabin leading training, learning basic Christian foundations, and experience hands-on service opportunities.
Where will I stay?
LIT’s will be assigned a cabin with a cabin leader. Cabin leaders will assist in the LIT program, under the leadership of the staff leading the program.
What do I need to apply?
The first step is to fill out the Application Form. If you have been accepted into the program, you will contacted and forwarded a registration form.
Once accepted into the program, you must also be able to supply an up-to-date Vulnerable Sector Check as we have camp programming occurring at the time of the program, and we must do our best to protect all campers.
