2023 Update

Moose Lake Gospel Camp

Dear Moose Lakers,
As 2023 gets underway, the MLGC Board wanted to provide you all with an update on Moose Lake and what this year will look like.As many of you know by now, Jeremy and Stacey Bacque resigned at the end of 2022 as the Executive Directors. We are searching for a new Executive Director, however the 2023 season for MLGC will likely look different than it has in past years. Jeremy and Stacey excelled in their job as the Executive Directors and as their resignation was unexpected, the Board does not have the man-power to run the camps that we have in the past. We hope to be back in a position soon to offer all of the camps we have traditionally run.

As it stands the 2023 camp dates are:
– WorkBee: May 19-22
– Men’s Retreat: June 9-11
– Jr Youth Camp: July 9-15
– Children’s Camp: July 16-22
– Family Camp: July 23 – 30

Of these, the Jr youth camp, and Children’s camp will be dependent on if we are able to find enough staff to run the camps. We are actively working at making these camps possible.

We will also be running Wholehearted Camping during the following dates:

  • June 2-4
  • June 16-18
  • June 23-25
  • July 30-Aug 4
  • Aug 7-22
  • Aug 28-Sept 4

For those of you who have not participated in Wholehearted Camping, you are welcome to come the entire time, or just a single night, and rent either a cabin or a trailer spot. There is no provided meals or programming, however access to the rest of the camp is available.

We also wanted to provide you an update on the MLGC board. During the past year, 4 board members have stepped down. Of these, three were unexpected. The board currently consists of Steen Nicolajsen, Tyler Mills, Erik Sample, Jonathan Scholer, and Benjamin Gee. It would be an understatement that we are short-staffed at the board level.As the Board continues to move forward, we want to ask all of you who are long-time Moose Lakers, would you consider joining the MLGC Board to help further the ministry of camp? We are greatly appreciative of all the ways you support MLGC, but one of the greatest ways you can support Moose Lake is the giving of your time. Running any ministry is time consuming and hard work and MLGC is no exception. We’d ask you to consider, for all that MLGC has poured into your life, would you consider pouring back into this ministry so that others can reap the benefits of MLGC’s ministry for years to come?And finally, if you are interested in the Executive Director position, or you know of anyone who might be, please contact us! The ED role is a paid, part-time position during the offseason and full time position during the camp season. If you are interested, please contact Tyler at tyler@estonelectric.ca. In summary, MLGC is in search of board members, an executive director, and all who might be able to help put on the children’s and Jr youth camp. Please reach out if you would like to support camp in one of those areas.The Board is hopeful and expectant for what the Lord might do next at MLGC, and we ask for your support, prayer, time, and finances as we continue to further the ministry of MLGC.
