Had you already made plans to come out to Moose Lake for Family Camp #1? Please consider planning on coming out to Moose Lake during the week of what would have been Family Camp #1 and attend our week-long workbee. During this week we will be pushing to try and get many of the needed upgrades completed.

As you have been made aware, the 2019 camping season of MLGC has been cancelled due to the many items that need to be upgraded on the campgrounds. The board is hoping to be able to do as many of the upgrades with volunteer labor to keep our costs down. The board’s prayer is that we can come together as a community of Moose Lakers and get the work done.

We will be hosting a week-long workbee from July 19-28.

We will be hosting our a second workbee on the campgrounds, from June 7th-9th.  However, with the Order to Remedy in place, we are not allowed to use any of the infrastructure of the camp until all deficiencies have been corrected and passed inspection. This includes cabins, electricity, bathrooms, and water.  We have been given permission by the Municipal District of Bonnyville to allow volunteers to bring self contained trailers and tents onto the campgrounds in order for us to accomplish the work that needs to be done. A number of generators will be on the campgrounds for trailers, charging power tools, etc. We will have an outdoor kitchen in order to feed volunteers with some large tents that Moose Lake is being blessed with by another charity. If you want to come for the workbee but not able to camp, please contact us and we will see what we can set up for you. If you are able to bring a trailer and have room to share your trailer space with other volunteers, that would be so appreciated. Showers are available in Bonnyville at the swimming pool for a small cost. We are truly going back to the roots of the early years of MLGC.

We love to have families at camp, however as the campgrounds are being deemed a construction site please plan towards that end.

Meals will be provided on Saturday, Sunday and Monday breakfast and lunch. We ask each family to bring the following items:

5 gallon jug(s) of drinking water for meals and personal use
Baking for breakfast: muffins, danishes, loaves, etc. OR
Baking for desserts; cookies, cakes, squares, etc.
Please bring your own snack foods: pop, chips, etc.

Other items to bring to this weekend are:

Work gloves
Construction tools
Battery operated power tools

Chainsaw if you have one
Shovels and rakes
Lawn chairs
Warm clothing
There will be ongoing workbees throughout the next number of months. Some will be formally organized and others not. We have a volunteer point person on the campgrounds for most of May and June. If you are available any time to come out to Moose Lake, we will put you to work. Please contact any of the board members and we can get you organized. There is work that does requires skilled trades people, i.e., plumber, gas fitter, electrician and surveyor, so if you are aware of such trades people willing to work for camp, please let a board member know.
Please RSVP for the workbee.   This will help us ensure we are ready for anyone coming onto the campgrounds. Please register here: Register for Workbee

We as the Board of Directors have tremendous hope for the future of Moose Lake Gospel Camp and we are excited to get to work.See you at camp,MLGC Board of Directors
